Introducing Diagonal bag
Simplicity in everyday essentials.
One continuous surface. No seams. No excess. Minimal design and timeless presence. Made locally in small batches, through a slow and careful process.
ABOUT
Manifold
Manifold is an independent design studio based in California.
I work in small batches, creating modern, timeless pieces designed to move naturally through everyday life. Each object begins as a flat surface — reduced to its essential form — then folds into structure and function.
My approach is rooted in simplicity: removing the unnecessary and designing with intention.
Manifold is for those who value clean lines, honest materials, and thoughtful design — locally made, carefully considered.
Less, but better.
Angela Ribas — architect, designer and founder.Designer
Born and raised in Brazil and now based in California, I’ve always been drawn to clean geometry and the quiet strength of minimal forms.
Manifold grew from my fascination with transformation — how a single surface can fold into something structured and functional. My work is shaped by architectural thinking and Japanese folding principles, where simplicity creates form.

About the designer
Hi, I’m Angela Ribas — architect, designer, and founder of Manifold.
Born and raised in Brazil and now based in California, I was trained as an architect and have always been drawn to clean geometry, precise angles, and the quiet strength of minimal forms.
Manifold grew from my fascination with transformation — how a single continuous surface can fold into something three-dimensional and functional. My bags are inspired by architectural thinking and Japanese folding techniques, where structure emerges from simplicity.
I design each piece as an exploration of balance: form and function, softness and structure, restraint and expression.
